About Shenita

Shenita James was born on April 16, 1980, in Edenton, North Carolina. As a child of poverty and victim of childhood sexual abuse, Shenita experienced even more hopelessness as she became a teenage mother and high school dropout. However, she managed to turn her life around and discover her passion for helping others to overcome life's difficulties. She overcame anxiety and depression and learned how to walk in purpose.

Always the encourager, Shenita enjoys encouraging the downtrodden, reminding them that if she can make it, so can they. So never give up!

Shenita graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Shenita is employed with Child Protective Services as an investigator for children who are suspected of being abuse or neglected. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work in hopes of becoming a child trauma therapist.

Shenita co-authored Healing The Little Women Inside. She is the also the author of Not Just Another Pretty Face, which is her debut book chronicling her journey from childhood abuse and trauma to mental and emotional healing and finding purpose.

As a coach, Shenita has worked with many women, guiding them into emotional healing while helping them to recover their sense of self-esteem and purpose and discover their worth.

As Shenita often says, it's not where you start that determines your end; it’s where you end up that counts. Hard work, dedication, determination, and putting God first is the key. Never give up, and keep your eyes on the prize.
